Watch this video for a detailed guide on building a hydrogen fuel cell for vehicles
Building a hydrogen fuel cell for vehicles can seem like a daunting task, but with the right guidance and materials, it becomes a manageable and rewarding project. Hydrogen fuel cells are a promising technology for powering vehicles due to their efficiency and environmentally friendly nature. This blog post will walk you through the basics of building a hydrogen fuel cell for your vehicle.
What is a Hydrogen Fuel Cell?
A hydrogen fuel cell generates electricity through a chemical reaction between hydrogen and oxygen. Unlike conventional combustion engines, hydrogen fuel cells produce only water and heat as byproducts, making them a clean energy source.
Materials Needed
To build a hydrogen fuel cell, you will need the following materials:
• Proton Exchange Membrane (PEM): This is the core component that allows protons to pass while blocking electrons.
• Catalyst: Typically made of platinum, the catalyst is applied on both sides of the PEM.
• Bipolar Plates: These plates help distribute gases over the PEM and collect the generated current.
• Gas Diffusion Layers (GDL): These layers ensure uniform gas distribution and help manage water production.
• End Plates and Hardware: These components hold the fuel cell stack together and provide necessary pressure.
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1: Prepare the Proton Exchange Membrane
Start by cutting the PEM to the desired size. Ensure it is clean and free of any contaminants.
Step 2: Apply the Catalyst
Coat both sides of the PEM with a thin layer of platinum catalyst. This can be done using a spray method or by brushing on a platinum ink. The catalyst facilitates the chemical reaction between hydrogen and oxygen.
Step 3: Assemble the Membrane Electrode Assembly (MEA)
Place the gas diffusion layers on either side of the PEM. The GDLs help distribute the hydrogen and oxygen gases evenly across the catalyst-coated PEM.
Step 4: Prepare the Bipolar Plates
Cut the bipolar plates to match the size of the MEA. The plates should have channels etched into them to allow the flow of gases. These channels can be created using a CNC machine or by hand with precise tools.
Step 5: Stack the Components
Layer the components in the following order: end plate, bipolar plate, GDL, PEM, GDL, bipolar plate, end plate. Ensure that everything is aligned properly to prevent gas leakage.
Step 6: Compress the Stack
Use bolts and nuts to compress the stack together. The pressure should be evenly distributed to ensure proper contact between all layers. Over-tightening can damage the PEM, so apply pressure gradually and monitor the stack closely.
Step 7: Connect the Gas Supply
Attach gas supply lines to the appropriate inlets on the bipolar plates. One side will supply hydrogen, and the other will supply oxygen (or air). Ensure that the connections are secure and free of leaks.
Step 8: Test the Fuel Cell
Before installing the fuel cell in a vehicle, test it to ensure it is working correctly. Connect the output terminals to a load or measuring device to check the voltage and current output. Ensure there are no gas leaks and that the fuel cell produces the expected power output.
Safety Considerations
Building and handling a hydrogen fuel cell involves certain risks. Hydrogen is a highly flammable gas, and proper safety precautions must be taken:
• Work in a well-ventilated area.
• Use proper personal protective equipment (PPE), such as gloves and safety goggles.
• Have fire suppression equipment readily available.
• Follow all local regulations and guidelines for handling hydrogen and other materials.
Conclusion
Building a hydrogen fuel cell for vehicles can significantly contribute to reducing carbon emissions and reliance on fossil fuels. By following this guide, you can create a functional hydrogen fuel cell and take a step towards a greener future.
For a more detailed visual guide, watch this video. The video provides an in-depth look at each step of the process and additional tips for success.
By harnessing the power of hydrogen fuel cells, we can make significant strides towards a more sustainable and eco-friendly transportation system. Happy building!

Israel continued on Friday to bombard Gaza Strip with airstrikes and artillery shells, ignoring international calls for calm, as it stepped up the deployment of troops and tanks near the besieged Palestinian enclave. Al Jazeera’s Safwat Al Kahlout, reporting from Gaza, said that as of 00:10 GMT on Friday, Israeli troops are massing at the border, but contrary to several news reports, there is no ground offensive taking place. “A ground operation needs a lot of preparation, needs a lot of troops,” he said, noting that it is likely that there is not yet enough number of tanks, artillery, and troops to enter Gaza. In a separate statement, the Israeli army also denied that the ground offensive has started. Kahlout also reported that the bodies of a woman and her three sons, who were killed in an Israeli airstrike, have been retrieved in the northern part of Gaza. As for Friday morning, the latest death toll has risen to 113, including at least 31 children. At least 600 people have been wounded. Al-Aqsa mosque: Dozens hurt in Jerusalem clashes
At least 163 Palestinians and six Israeli police officers have been hurt in clashes in Jerusalem, Palestinian medics and Israeli police say. Most were injured at the Al-Aqsa mosque, where Israeli police fired rubber bullets and stun grenades as Palestinians threw stones and bottles. Tensions have been rising over the potential eviction of Palestinians from land claimed by Jewish settlers. The Red Crescent has opened a field hospital to treat the wounded. The Al-Aqsa mosque complex in Jerusalem's Old City is one of Islam's most revered locations, but its location is also the holiest site in Judaism, known as the Temple Mount. The site is a frequent flashpoint for violence, which unfolded again on Friday night after thousands had gathered there to observe the last Friday of the Muslim holy month of Ramadan. Explained: How Israel’s Iron Dome intercepts rockets On Tuesday evening, videos on social media showed rockets fired from Gaza being intercepted by the Israeli Iron Dome air defense system. It appeared that the rockets were hitting an invisible shield. On Tuesday evening, videos on social media showed rockets fired from Gaza being intercepted by the Israeli Iron Dome air defense system. It appeared that the rockets were hitting an invisible shield. The genesis of the Iron Dome goes back to the 2006 Israeli-Lebanon war when Hezbollah fired thousands of rockets into Israel. The following year, Israel announced that its state-run Rafael Advanced Systems would come up with a new air defense system to protect its cities and people. It was developed with Israel Aerospace Industries. The Iron Dome was deployed in 2011. While Rafael claims a success rate of over 90%, with more than 2,000 interceptions, experts agree the success rate is over 80%. Rafael says on its website that it can “protect deployed and maneuvering forces, as well as the Forward Operating Base (FOB) and urban areas, against a wide range of indirect and aerial threats”. Israel-Gaza violence: The conflict explained In August and September 2020, the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and then Bahrain agreed to normalize relations with Israel, making them only the third and fourth countries in the region—following Egypt in 1979 and Jordan in 1994—to do so. The agreements, named the Abraham Accords, came more than eighteen months after the United States hosted Israel and several Arab states for ministerial talks in Warsaw, Poland, about the future of peace in the Middle East. Palestinian leader Mahmoud Abbas has rejected the recent accords and recalled his ambassador from Abu Dhabi; Hamas also rejected the agreements. The peace announcements follow a tumultuous 2019–20 election season in Israel. After three elections since December 2018, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu of the Likud party and Defense Minister and “Alternate Prime Minister” Benny Gantz of the Blue and White party signed an agreement creating a unity government on April 20, 2020. The new government said it would maintain Netanyahu’s campaign promise to extend Israel’s sovereignty over the West Bank, a promise that has been condemned by Palestinian Authority Prime Minister Mohammad Shtayyeh. Furthermore, despite the formation of a unity government and promises from Netanyahu that he would step down after eighteen months, anti-government demonstrations swept across Israel throughout the summer of 2020 with protestors demanding Netanyahu’s immediate resignation. Tensions also remain high between the Israeli military and Hamas. In August 2020, Hamas launched helium balloons that carried incendiary material towards Israel’s southern border. In response, Israel conducted airstrikes against Hamas facilities in the Gaza strip. Mediators have struggled to ease tensions and prevent further escalation

Straight out of an episode of Black Mirror, New York’s police department first revealed its robot dog unit “Digidog” back in December 2020, and a new video of it in action is again causing a stir. Footage posted to Facebook on Monday shows NYPD officers leading a handcuffed suspect out of a building as a crowd of onlookers watch. The officers are then followed by Digidog and its operators, the machine purposefully prowling past the crowd across the rain-slick paving. “I’ve never seen anything like this before in my life,” says the person filming the video. Reaction online to the post ranged from confusion to “Get ready for terminators soon smfh” and “We really in our last days”. The 70-pound robotic dog was outfitted with lights, cameras, and artificial intelligence. The four-legged device had only gone into and out of the building’s lobby without playing an active role in the operation, the police said. Still, its mere presence at a public housing building ignited a fierce backlash, with many people condemning it as a stark example of police power and misplaced priorities even as calls to address both roil the United States. RUSSIAN ROBOT BEING TRAINED TO SHOOT GUNS Russia’s space-bound humanoid robot FEDOR is being trained to shoot guns from both of its hands. The activity will help improve the android’s motor skills and decision-making, according to its creators, who have also tried to address concerns that they’re developing a real-life Terminator. “Robot platform F.E.D.O.R. showed shooting skills with two hands,” wrote Russia’s deputy Prime Minister, Dmitry Rogozin, on Twitter. Mr. Rogozin also posted a short clip showing FEDOR in action, firing a pair of guns at a target board, alongside the message, “Russian fighting robots – guys with iron nature.” Mr. Rogozin was reported to have shot himself in the foot back in 2015, shortly after tweeting support for America's National Rifle Association, though a spokesperson from his office said he hurt himself while playing handball. It’s being developed by Android Technics and the Advanced Research Fund and has been taught a wide range of advanced skills. It knows how to use keys and a variety of tools, screw-in light bulbs, and even drive a car. The robot was originally created for rescue work, but military uses have also been suggested by engineers. Lord Martin Rees, the Astronomer Royal and Emeritus Professor of Cosmology and Astrophysics at the University of Cambridge, earlier this month said that machines could take over from humans within a few centuries. He also said he believes that alien intelligence if it does exist, could be "electronic" and far better suited to space exploration than humans will ever be. China Creates Its Own Digital Currency China’s version of a digital currency is controlled by its central bank, which will issue the new electronic money. It is expected to give China’s government vast new tools to monitor both its economy and its people. By design, the digital yuan will negate one of bitcoin’s major draws: anonymity for the user. Beijing is also positioning the digital yuan for international use and designing it to be untethered to the global financial system, where the U.S. dollar has been king since World War II. China is embracing digitization in many forms, including money, in a bid to gain more centralized control while getting a head start on technologies of the future that it regards as up for grabs. Some users outside China, particularly in the US, might be reluctant to use a digital currency controlled by China. However, early adoption in parts of Asia, Latin America, and Africa are likely to proceed significantly faster.

He is a revered Torah teacher named Rav Shlomo Yehudah many call him a gift to this generation. Kaduri had said that he expected the Mashiach, the Jewish Messiah, to arrive soon and that he had met him a year earlier. It has been alleged that he left a hand-written note to his followers and they were reportedly instructed to only open the note after Rabbi Kaduri had been dead for one year. Orthodox Jews Claim They Have Their Messiah Orthodox Jews claim they have found their messiah. Half Jewish, half Muslim. His name is Jizkiahu Ben David. His age is anywhere from 30-33 There is very little information about him that I could find online. I have read he recently came from South America and is somehow involved in the medical field but I’m having a hard time finding much else. Could this be their Messiah? Jesus did say there would be many pretending to be...He told us to be aware and cautious of this. Of every clip, I watch....commenters cannot believe the rabbis that are kissing this man’s hand. They say this action is unheard of. Is Russia going to war with Ukraine? Multiple sources have reported large Russian military movements towards the eastern Ukraine border and into Crimea, which Russian forces annexed from Ukraine in March 2014. President Vladimir Putin's spokesman Dmitry Peskov said Ukraine is staging "provocations". Ukrainian intelligence sources told the BBC that the extra forces amount to 16 battalion tactical groups, which would be up to 14,000 soldiers. In total, according to the Ukrainian presidency, Russia now has about 40,000 on the eastern border and about 40,000 in Crimea. Russian-backed separatist rebels and Ukrainian troops have been clashing in the east of the country. Russia has also been building up troops on the border with Ukraine. The official, Dmitry Kozak, said that Russian forces could intervene to "defend" Russian citizens. "Everything depends on the scale of the conflagration," he said. He is deputy head of Russia's presidential administration. He also warned that an escalation could mark the "beginning of the end" for Ukraine - "not a shot in the leg, but in the face". The Ukrainian military says one of its soldiers was killed on Thursday by shooting from the separatists. The rebels used machine guns, grenades, and mortars several times, and Ukrainian forces fired back, the military was quoted as saying. The Ukrainian army commander, Gen Ruslan Khomchak, said "we see the build-up of Russian troops near Ukraine's state border. "However, this does not mean that our country is being encircled. The situation is under control."
Earlier the rebels said one of their fighters was killed when Ukrainian troops fired mortars at a village on the outskirts of the city of Donetsk. The United States and Germany have both expressed concern at the increase in tensions. Israel appears to confirm it carried out a cyberattack on Iran nuclear facility Israel appeared to confirm claims that it was behind a cyber-attack on Iran’s main nuclear facility on Sunday, which Tehran’s nuclear energy chief described as an act of terrorism that warranted a response against its perpetrators. The apparent attack took place hours after officials at the Natanz reactor restarted spinning advanced centrifuges that could speed up the production of enriched uranium, in what had been billed as a pivotal moment in the country’s nuclear program. As Iranian authorities scrambled to deal with a large-scale blackout at Natanz, which the country’s Atomic Energy Agency acknowledged had damaged the electricity grid at the site, the Israeli defense chief, Aviv Kochavi, said the country’s “operations in the Middle East are not hidden from the eyes of the enemy”. The apparent attack by Israel on Iran’s nuclear enrichment facility appears to be the latest episode in an increasing tit-for-tat cyberwar. Both sides have already targeted so-called industrial control systems [ICS], which have emerged as a key weakness for countries across the globe. While Iran described the latest attack as “sabotage”, Israeli media called it a cyber-attack. The vulnerability of ICS systems, and similar so-called “operating technology” used in industrial processes and large infrastructure plants – from electrical grids to steel, chemical, and water treatment plants – was demonstrated more than a decade ago by the revelation of the US-Israeli Stuxnet malware attack on the Natanz plant. A ship owned by Israeli firm attacked off UAE coast: media DUBAI (Reuters) -A commercial vessel owned by an Israeli firm was attacked off the coast of the United Arab Emirates in Gulf waters, pro-Iran media and an Israeli television channel said on Tuesday. Israel’s top-rated Channel 12 quoted unnamed Israeli officials as blaming arch-foe Iran for the assault, which it described as a missile strike. There were no casualties and the ship continued on its course, the TV channel added. Two maritime security sources told Reuters that an Israeli ship was hit near the UAE’s Fujairah port resulting in an explosion but that there were no casualties. Officials in Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s office and Israel’s Defence Ministry declined to comment on the incident. A spokesman for Israel’s Transportation Ministry said he was aware of the reports but could not confirm them. Biden to announce plan to withdraw troops from Afghanistan by Sept. 11 President Biden is set to announce a plan Wednesday to withdraw all remaining troops from Afghanistan by Sept. 11, the 20th anniversary of the terrorist attacks that sparked the United States’ longest war. The plan, which U.S. officials disclosed Tuesday, means that many of the few thousand troops in Afghanistan will remain after May 1, a deadline the Trump administration set last year in a deal with the Taliban. But two decades after they arrived, U.S. troops appear all but certain to exit Afghanistan within five months, leaving the Afghan government to fight on largely alone against an enemy that has been gaining ground and that has balked at a U.S.-led push for a peace settlement.
